I have been doing software development, network related stuff and testing for a few years. Those work I have done is nothing to do with business process integration, which means I am lack of business side experience when doing business integration among companies. This course is more about B2B integration, I think it is necessary to know what process experts concern and what technical process manager concern. Generally, I need Business process integration knowledge to do nice jobs in different industries.

It presents some state-of-the art technologies for B2B interactions such as B2B interaction in EDI (Electronic data interchange) based solutions, Internet-based EDI initiatives, CORBA-based B2B E-commerce, DCOM-based B2B E-commerce and EJB-based B2B E-commerce. Generally, It also discusses about trends in supporting interactions like RosettaNet, emXML, cxXML with different different delopyment platforms. Some open issues (security, privacy, process-based integration of services, Dynamic and scalable orchestration of services and Dependable integration of services) are mentioned in the paper, they are import issues for successful B2B integration.

This paper reveals server critical success factors for the IOS (inter-organizational information system), they are intensive stimulation, shared vision, cross-organizational implementation team, high integration with internal information systems, inter-organizational business process re-engineering, advanced legacy information system and infrastructure and shared industry standard. It uses a case study method to present the success story of the IOS of Cisco and Xiao Tong in China.

I tried to get Xiao Tong company business information from internet in order to know more about motivation behind it for doing the integration , surprise me, I could not find it.
